It didn’t start with a plan. It started with a feeling.
A feeling you get when you walk through a neighbourhood and can’t ignore the quiet struggles happening behind every door, the skipped meals, the tired hands, the silent prayers for help that never make it out loud.
Zariya began in one such place, with one simple promise: we will not look away anymore.
What followed was never perfect or polished. Just people showing up sometimes with food, sometimes with time, sometimes only with intention. But it was enough to begin something real.
Today, that same intention has grown into a movement that reaches thousands across Pakistan. Not because we had everything figured out, but because we kept going back again and again to the same belief: that dignity should not be a privilege, and no one should feel forgotten.
We are still learning. Still building. Still showing up, one home, one meal, one moment at a time.
We are Zariya Welfare Association, a volunteer-led movement built on one simple belief: no one in our communities should have to worry about their next meal or basic dignity.
What started as a small group of friends coming together to serve meals has now grown into a nationwide effort reaching some of Pakistan’s most underserved regions. From Ramadan ration drives and winter clothing distributions to flood relief camps, masjid construction, and livelihood support through the Apna Rozgar Project, every initiative is powered entirely by volunteers who give their time, energy, and hearts without expecting anything in return.
At our core, we are driven by compassion, accountability, and the hope that consistent, grassroots action can create real change where it’s needed most.
Donate to Our Cause →Zariya didn’t begin as an organisation. It began as a moment that stayed with us.
When volunteers first stepped into low-income neighbourhoods in Karachi, what they saw was not just poverty, it was quiet endurance. Kitchens with empty shelves, parents pretending they weren’t hungry so their children could eat, and lives built around making “less” feel like “enough.”
In that moment, a promise was made simple, but heavy: we will come back.
What started as a single ration drive slowly grew into something far bigger — 100+ Ramadan drives and ongoing relief efforts reaching Afridi Goth, Bela, Gadani, Shah Noorani, Pasni, and many more remote and often forgotten communities across Pakistan.
But even today, nothing about it feels distant or institutional. It still feels like people showing up for people carrying sacks, sharing meals, listening to stories, and returning again because need doesn’t end after one visit.
Zariya is still that same promise just multiplied, carried forward by many hands instead of a few.
Service before self. We believe khidmat is not charity — it is responsibility. Every volunteer, every donor, every effort comes from the same intention: to show up for others quietly, sincerely, and without expectation of recognition or return.
Nothing is hidden. Every drive, every rupee, every distribution is documented and shared openly. We remain accountable first to Allah, and then to every person who trusts us with their support.
Every family we serve is treated with care, respect, and humanity. Not as numbers or beneficiaries, but as neighbours who deserve to be seen properly.
We go where access is hardest and attention is rare. From remote Balochistan villages to flood-affected regions of KP, we carry support to places that are often left behind.
We don’t impose solutions from outside. We work with communities, not above them. Local voices guide us, and local volunteers are the backbone of every effort we take forward.
Through Apna Rozgar, we focus on rebuilding livelihoods and creating pathways out of dependency, so support doesn’t just help people survive, it helps them move forward with stability and dignity.

Zariya Welfare is run entirely by volunteers, people who give their time, energy, and skills because they believe small actions can make a real difference. There are no paid positions in our field work. Most of our team is based in Karachi, but our work takes us across Pakistan wherever help is needed. From packing ration bags to distributing meals and organizing relief drives, every task is done by people who simply show up and help.
